We roasted Asbjørn with three questions:
Why ships, in general?
I first discovered shipping when I was a young kid. I visited a Statoil Refinery and got to board a crude carrier. That's where the passion was sparked. Then, in my early teens, I spent most of my time sailing optimist dinghies.
Why the shipping industry?
I started as an 18-year-old working extra rigging STS fenders. I was also on deck on board smaller supply vessels delivering provisions and stores to vessels passing through Danish straits, further delivering provisions to vessels calling different Danish ports. In 2008, I moved on and became a shipping trainee – and I have been on the same path ever since.
Why Sirius Agency?
After 16 years in the industry, I have now decided to take part in this very interesting step with Sirius entering the Danish market. I have had close cooperation with Sirius and Vald. Andersons Shipagency for several years – and now, as a part of the Sirius family, we will be a local representative ensuring efficient and safe port calls, passages, or anchorages for crews, owners, charterers, and cargo owners, in every Danish port and all the Danish waters.
